HIP HOP

InSpira’s Hip Hop program is all about rhythm, energy, and personal expression. Rooted in street culture, Hip Hop encourages dancers to connect with the music and let their individuality shine through movement. Whether learning foundational techniques like popping, locking, and breaking, or exploring freestyle, Hip Hop at InSpira fosters creativity and confidence. Our classes create a welcoming space where dancers of all levels can explore the dynamic, high-energy world of Hip Hop, honing their musicality, coordination, and performance skills. More than just a style, Hip Hop at InSpira is a celebration of culture, community, and self-expression—inviting dancers to find their voice through the beats and movements that define this genre.

Little InSpiration Hip Hop Program

The Little InSpiration Hip Hop Program introduces children ages 5-6 to the high-energy, creative world of hip hop. This program encourages self-expression and creativity, while helping dancers develop rhythm, musicality, and coordination. The class provides a fun and supportive environment where young dancers can explore the basics of hip hop movement and style.

Little Inspiration Levels & Progression

Primary Level Jazz

Primary Hip Hop teaches dancers the foundational moves of hip hop, such as simple isolations, grooves, and basic footwork. In this class, students learn to dance to the beat of contemporary music, while developing their coordination and confidence. Freestyle and structured dance combinations help students express themselves and discover their own style in a positive, engaging atmosphere.

How Primary Level Hip Hop Works

Primary Hip Hop introduces young dancers to the basics of rhythm, style, and movement in the hip hop genre. The class focuses on simple hip hop steps and sequences, such as isolations, grooves, and basic footwork. Through a combination of freestyle and structured choreography, students will learn to move to the beat and express their individuality. Instructors emphasize musicality, coordination, and creative self-expression, helping dancers gain confidence in a supportive and energetic environment.

Duration & Class Size

Primary Level Classes are typically 45 minutes long with a class size no larger than 12-15 students

Progression from Primary Level Hip Hop to Hip Hop Level 1

Students typically remain in Primary Hip Hop for 1-2 years, depending on their individual development and ability to master basic hip hop techniques. Progression is determined during R.I.S.E. Week, where instructors evaluate each dancer's skills, including musicality, rhythm, and their ability to follow choreographed movements. After completing this level, dancers will move on to Hip Hop Level 1, based on the instructor’s recommendation.

Little Inspiration Graduation

At the end of the Primary B level, dancers celebrate their achievements by participating in the Little Inspiration Graduation Ceremony. This event marks the transition from early Hip Hop exploration to more formal Hip Hop training in our InSpira EXPerience Division.

The ceremony includes:

  • A Special Performance from an EXP Dancer(s)

  • A Breakdown of the InSpira EXPerience Division & The Disciplines Offered

  • Words from CIO & InStructors

  • Presentation of a certificate of achievement.

  • Recognition of their progression through the Little Inspiration Program.

Graduating from the Little Inspiration Program signifies that your dancer is ready for more structured Hip Hop training and can confidently move forward into the next phase of their dance education.
